investing in its community in meaningful ways,
inviting people to get to know Jesus in the
context of a safe and loving community and
inspiring others to
live a life fully devoted to Jesus Christ, through strategic disciples
Strategy
Lantern Community Church is not the kind of church where people come into a community for a worship service and then leave it until the following Sunday. The Lantern is all about community
development – growing a group of people who feel connected to each other for support and transformation.
We believe that the church of Jesus Christ does not exist to serve itself, but rather to bless those who do not know the life-changing love of Jesus.
With this in mind, here are some ways we plan to carry out our vision:
- Focus on Inglewood
We have chosen Inglewood as “our” community.
- Joining and Partnering
Instead of primarily initiating a lot of our own activities, the Lantern is interested in joining in and partnering with existing programs in hopes of strengthening their impact.
- Meeting Needs
The Lantern is interested in discovering and responding to community needs.
- Initiating Programs
Lantern Community Church is committed to bringing people together to develop their passions from music
lessons to aerobics classes, theatre productions to basketball tournaments, art shows to play groups.
- Service
Lantern Community Church wants to earn a voice in Inglewood by serving people the way Jesus did—with love, honesty, and tenderness.
