Values Statement

Community

“…now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with  the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.”

“His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.  And this gave him great pleasure.”

• We believe everyone needs a place to belong.
• We believe that people grow best in the context of community.
• We believe Christian community can be the most irresistible life changing experience a person can have.

Service

“Jesus... made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant.”

• We believe the heart of Christianity is following the example of Christ in serving one another.

Authenticity

“Have I lied to anyone or deceived anyone? Let God judge me on the scales of justice, for He knows my integrity.”

• We believe honesty and integrity to be the backbone of everything we are about.
• We believe everyone who crosses our path should be treated with respect and dignity.

Prayer

“…whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I’m doing, I’ll do it.”

• We believe that through prayer we have constant access to God and it is foundational to our existence.
• We believe power for ministry can only be released through prayer

Creative Worship

“Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. Those who worship God must do it out of their very being, their true selves, in adoration.”

• We believe in genuine worship God’s presence is felt, God’s pardon is offered, God’s purposes are revealed and God’s power is displayed.
• We believe we serve a creative God and the timeless message of the gospel should be expressed in culturally relevant and engaging ways.

Spiritual Transformation

“This is how my Father shows who He is. When you produce much fruit, you mature as my disciples.”

“God knew what He was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son… We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in Him.”

• We believe followers of Jesus must mature in their faith, so in time they begin to act and think more like Him.
• We believe in spiritual disciplines such as, Scripture reading, prayer, worship, fasting, feasting, fellowship and silence, to help us grow in Christ.

Excellence

“Whatever your hand finds to do – do it with all your might.”

• We believe everything worth doing is worth doing well.

Stewardship

“…. be generous and willing to share.“

• We believe God has given us a mandate to take care of His world by living simply, extending a helping hand to those in need, and protecting the environment.
• We believe God wants us to share the resources He has given us – our time, abilities and treasure – willingly and generously.
